Top-mounted roller shutters
Top-mounted roller shutters are mounted directly on the window frame. The roller shutter box is placed on top of the window or door frame.
This method of roller shutter installation is only possible during new construction or when replacing existing windows. The roller shutter box is ultimately covered by the facade, making it invisible from the outside. Service access to the roller shutter box is provided by an inspection hatch, which in top-mounted roller shutters is always located from the inside of the room. Several models are available – differing mainly in the available box sizes, the method of opening the inspection hatch and the thickness of the thermal insulation (see Product Card). Basic roller shutter models include: CC – Classic, TL – Thermo Lux and TP – Thermo Prestige (also available with a mosquito net – TP+).
Top-mounted roller shutters are a modern solution that provides effective protection against excessive sunlight, noise and unwanted outside vision. The roller shutter’s aluminum profiles (PA) are highly durable. The roller shutter control (raising/lowering) can be manual – using a tape or a Kardan crank – or electric – using switches or a remote controler. The roller shutter guiderails are made of PVC. For TP and TP+ roller shutters, aluminum guiderails are available – which can be painted or film-covered. The colour of the aluminum profile (PA), guiderails and box can be selected from a wide range.
